It’s been lovely to have Colin off work for two weeks, although the time has gone far too quickly! There’s so much we didn’t manage to fit in, but we’ve had some great days out together as a family as well as getting on with various jobs around the house.
We spent an afternoon doing the Great Eggcase Hunt at a local beach. We didn’t personally find any eggcases but Colin did find the biggest hermit crab he’s ever seen!
We went down to the National Marine Aquarium again and took Nanny with us this time. We stopped at Trago Mills on the way and had a great time exploring their huge garden centre area in the sunshine, then had a ride on the steam train.
Lunch at the famous Cap’n Jaspers. And no, she didn’t eat all of that!
We spotted a seal in the harbour just outside the aquarium.
I particularly love the first rockpool area of the aquarium as there are always staff members there ready to engage the children, teach them something new and answer their questions.
This sea turtle arrived at the aquarium two weeks ago and was great fun to watch.
Aaron and Tabitha went to an Easter egg hunt at their auntie’s house and had a wonderful time while I spent the day in bed ill! Colin was also unwell for a couple of days and poor Esther has had a cold.
Thursday was Esther’s first birthday, although nobody can believe she is really one already!
She has just started standing up all by herself without holding on to anything! Sometimes she will take a step or two, so it won’t be long before she’s walking.
In the afternoon we went to Petorama with all the cousins and they had a wonderful time watching and handling lots of different animals. Tabitha loved the baby guinea pigs and Colin fell in love with a collie puppy.
Then we all came back to our house for more play, food and birthday cake!
