Tabitha had chicken pox last week, so we are only just beginning to get back into our normal routine. Doubtless it will soon be disrupted again when Aaron and Esther catch it!
Esther is growing up so quickly at the moment and I want to record a few things before I forget. I’ve realised that I haven’t been taking many photos recently apart from blurry camera phone ones, so I need to make more of an effort with that.
These photos are from a family walk a few weeks ago. Good thing we went ahead and got another Nipper, I can’t think of any other pushchair that could have handled 6 inch mud, steep banks, narrow plank bridges and fallen tree trunks so easily! I do miss having her parent-facing but Esther seems happier with her improved view.
Esther enjoys playing various musical instruments, including the glockenspiel.
Her understanding is getting quite good. Yesterday I asked her to give me something, which she then picked up from the floor and placed in my hand! She knows when she is not supposed to touch something and she likes to give slobbery kisses when asked.
She is miserable and grumpy a lot of the time, although she does have happy days too. I think it’s partly because of her terrible sleep! We are working on that at the moment, so hopefully things will improve soon. Everything feels like so much effort when I begin the day exhausted. I often say it’s a good thing she’s cute, it’s a necessary trait for survival!
She still does her strange drag-along-the-ground crawling, although I have also seen her crawl normally a few times. Her interest in movement has now progressed from horizontal to vertical. Last week she was kneeling up, this week she is standing up! She even takes a few steps with the help of her walker. My little baby is getting so big!
P.S. This evening she clapped properly for the first time!
