Recently we visited a fish farm just outside our town. The lakes and water gardens are beautiful, but the highlight was hiring rods and fishing for rainbow and brown trout from the children’s lake.
We cooked our trout with butter, garlic, lemon and thyme and ate it with buttered new potatoes, chilli fried courgettes and garlic roasted tomatoes. Yummy! It was cheaper than buying fish from the supermarket and everyone got involved in catching, preparing or cooking, so it was a great way to spend quality time together as a family.
