Our lovely friend Susanna organised a day out for some Christian home educators at Heatree Activity Centre on Dartmoor. We’ve been to the centre before as our Pastor’s daughter and husband work there, but this was the first time we’ve officially taken part in any activities. In the morning, Aaron did a low adventure course whilst Tabitha did some activities in the bronze age round house.
The first challenge for Aaron’s group was to cross these ropes without touching the wooden posts or the ground… oh and they had to carry four waterbomb “babies” with them too.
Next they had to boost each other up over this wall and then leap over the gap.
The instructor shook this bridge, making it very wobbly!
The group had to search for golf ball “eggs” inside the maze.
Next they had to wriggle down a long tube, before swinging across some ropes. I couldn’t take any photos as it began to hail really hard. I didn’t get to see the rest of the adventure course, as Colin came to find me because Tabitha was upset. I went back to our group’s room and cuddled her until the others came back for lunch. Halfway through lunch she was suddenly sick, turned very pale and asked to go home. Colin and I decided to leave early so that we could stop plenty of times along the way in the daylight. Aaron stayed behind with friends and did high ropes in the afternoon. Despite Tabitha being ill, it was a really fun day!
